RANGE

Depends on surroundings, obstructions, buildings, antenna gain, other transmitters, EMI & RFI in the vicinity.

In ideal, clear, Line-of-Sight conditions

Vertical 3 dBi Whip antenna on Receiver up to ~ 100 metres.

Correctly matched and aligned 18 dBi antenna on Receiver up to ~ 600 metres.

Correctly matched and aligned 24 dBi antenna on Receiver up to ~ 1 200 metres.

Due to the nature of Radio Signals results are unpredictable (in the same manner as Mobile / Cellular Telephones) signals reflected from surrounding objects arriving at Receiver antenna may Add-to or Subtract-from the direct signal from Transmitter. Directional antennas may reduce affect of reflected signals.

Range and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) may be improved by increasing gain of antenna on Receiver, for maximum signal transfer TX and RX antennas should be the same polarity, that is both oriented Vertically or Horizontally.
